Students may contact Academic Support for help with tutoring, test proctoring, academic accommodations, and a quiet place to study.
For more information, contact Director of Academic Support Reb Miller by email (millerrs@bethanylb.edu), phone (785-227-3380 x8523), or drop in to Social Science Room #22.
Tutors
Trained tutors from a variety of majors work with students in their specialty area including mathematics, sciences, and all stages of writing. Tutors are available by appointment through this link the Tutor Bookings QR code available on bulletin boards around campus and in the Swede Space Student Resources Course.
Test Proctoring
Proctors are available for students who need to take a test outside of the normal class time for any reason. If a professor approves a proctored test for a student, that student needs to reserve a proctor through this link the Tutor Bookings QR code available on bulletin boards around campus and in the Swede Space Student Resources Course. The professor needs to make the test available by arrangements with Reb Miller via email (millerrs@bethanylb.edu) or in person. Her office is Room 22 in the Social Science Building.
Academic Accommodations
Academic Support offers confidential accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you had an IEP or 504 in high school, we want to provide you with reasonable accommodations or academic adjustments. This includes note takers, extended time, testing in a distraction free environment, and accessible classrooms. These accommodations can make a big difference in your learning experience. But you must reach out to claim them.
To receive these benefits, complete this very short form or use the QR codes on bulletin boards around campus. For any questions regarding this process, contact the Director of Academic Support Reb Miller through email (millerrs@bethanylb.edu), phone (785-227-3380 x8523), or in person (Social Science, Office 22; schedule an appointment here).
Make contact within the first week of classes to get ahead of any problems you may encounter. (But if you decide later in the semester to activate these provisions, please contact Reb Miller as soon as possible.)
Note: Requesting accommodations in college is not like high school. The college student is responsible for disclosing their disability or learning difference to the ADA Coordinator (Reb Miller) and must provide documentation (which can include an IEP or 504).
